What Are Household Foil Specifications

Household aluminum foil is widely used in cooking, freezing, preservation, baking and other industries. This disposable aluminum foil paper is easy to use, safe, hygienic, odorless and does not leak. In the refrigerator or freezer, aluminum foil can be wrapped directly on the food to prevent the food from deforming, preventing the loss of water in fish, vegetables, fruits, and dishes, and the leakage or mixing of flavors. Since household foil has good and uniform thermal conductivity and heating effect, it can be used in ovens, steamers, etc. to heat the food directly.

The thickness of household aluminum foil paper is 0.016mm (standard type) to 0.0245mm (Heavy duty). But there are also ones as thin as 5µm. Small rolls of household aluminum foil usually have thicknesses of 8mic, 9mic, 10mic, 11mic, 12mic, 14mic, 15mic, 16mic, 17mic and 18mic. Now, the width of large aluminum foil roll can reach 1300mm.

The household aluminum foil is also a kind of aluminum food foils. Its price depends on the alloy grade, specifications, technical requirements and dosage. Among them, the commonly used alloys are 8011/H22, 8011/H24, 8011/O, and 3003/H24 aluminum foil. Generally, the price of 3 series aluminum foil is higher than that of 8 series aluminum foil.

The aluminum alloys currently used to produce household foils on the market are generally 1235 and 8011 alloys. Using 1235 alloy to produce household foils has the advantages of good surface quality and fewer pinholes. However, due to the low alloy content and soft strength, it results in poor rolling performance and low production efficiency and yield.

When 8011 alloy is used to produce household foils, although it has high strength and good rolling stability, due to the characteristics of the alloy itself, the problem of excessive number of pinholes often occurs, which affects the use of aluminum foil.
