1. Heat exchanger
The heat exchanger is the core component of the air conditioner, and aluminum foil plays a key role here. When the air conditioner is running, it needs to continuously exchange heat to achieve cooling or heating functions. Heat exchanger plates made of aluminum foil are widely used in heat exchangers. With the development of technology, air conditioner heat exchanger plates are evolving towards ultra-thinness and high strength. The thickness of the early heat exchanger plates was 0.15-0.2mm, and now it can be between 0.09-0.15mm.
To meet different needs, aluminium coil in ac has many types. Uncoated aluminum foil, which is rolled and annealed, has no surface treatment. It was widely used in the past. Even now, about 50% of the heat exchangers used in developed countries abroad are still uncoated aluminum foil, and this proportion in my country is about 60%. Coated aluminum foil is a surface reprocessing of uncoated aluminum foil to give it special functions. Among them, hydrophilic aluminum foil is particularly common and is mainly used in air-conditioning evaporators.
Its surface is highly hydrophilic. After the moisture in the hot air condenses into water droplets on the heat exchanger, it can quickly spread out and flow down the sheet, avoiding the water droplets "bridge" between the heat exchanger plates and hindering ventilation, significantly improving the heat exchange rate, and saving energy at the same cooling capacity.
The hydrophilic aluminum foil on the market usually has good corrosion resistance. Hydrophobic aluminum foil, in contrast to hydrophilic aluminum foil, increases the contact angle between the condensed water and the heat exchanger plate, so that the condensed water forms water droplets and slides down, which can also avoid the retention of condensed water.
2. Air conditioning ducts
In air conditioning and ventilation systems, the use of aluminum foil tubes is becoming more and more common. Aluminum foil ducts generally adopt a composite structure, such as 0.08mm thick aviation-grade aluminum foil combined with a polyester fiber reinforcement layer. It is both rigid and flexible, with a bending radius of up to 1.5 times the pipe diameter, and can adapt to complex building structures. It has excellent corrosion resistance.
According to SGS testing, it has no rust for 5,000 hours in a salt spray environment with a humidity of 90%. It is suitable for high-corrosion environments such as seaside hotels and food processing plants. The air tightness is also excellent, with an air leakage rate of less than 2% at the joints. With the patented snap-on connection technology, it reduces air leakage loss by 60% compared to traditional flange connections, effectively improving system energy efficiency. The thermal conductivity of aluminum foil ducts is only 0.02W/m・K, which is 1/20 of that of galvanized steel pipes. It can suppress the cold bridge effect and reduce the energy consumption of air conditioning systems.
3. Air conditioning insulation layer
Aluminum foil also plays a role in the insulation of air conditioners. The insulation layer of some air conditioners is a composite of aluminum foil and other insulation materials.
