Aluminum foil for Blister Pack

Aluminum foil is used as a cover material for tablet and capsule blister packaging, as well as packaging of some aerosol products. It uses hard industrial pure aluminum as the substrate, which can effectively block oxygen, moisture, light and microorganisms. Due to its superior barrier properties, these films are considered the first choice for pharmaceutical packaging.

Aluminum foil for blister pack and plastic base has good sealing performance, which can completely block the entry of external contaminants and ensure that the medicine is always in an ideal sterile and constant environment before opening. The raw material used to produce PTP aluminum foil is industrial pure aluminum foil, which is generally required to have a thickness of 0.02mm, a tensile strength of 98kPa, a burst strength of 90kPa, a clean, flat surface, no wrinkles, no indentation damage, no fluorescent material in pieces, and a surface wetting tension of not less than 32. The pinhole requirement for aluminum foil for medicinal and health food use is that the pinhole with a diameter of 0.1-0.3mm is no more than 1/m2.

The thickness of medicinal aluminum foil is only tens of microns, and the finished product is generally above 300mm. The inner diameter of the core is 76mm, and the maximum outer diameter can reach 500mm. The thickness tolerance is no more than 5%. After the water brushing test, the result is A grade.

There are two alloys of medicinal foil commonly seen on the market, namely 8011 aluminum foil and 8021 aluminum foil. The thickness of 8011 alloy state is generally below 0.05mm (aluminum foil), and the thickness of 8021 alloy state is above 0.05mm.
