8000 Series Aluminum Foil

The common grades of 8000 series aluminum foil are 8011, 8021 and 8079 aluminum foil. The main alloying elements of 8011 aluminum foil are Fe and Si, and the rest are trace impurity elements. It is the most widely used aluminum foil in food packaging, food container, pharmaceutical packaging and aluminum bottle cap material.

Aluminum beverage bottle caps are exquisitely processed from high-quality aluminum alloy materials. They are mainly used for packaging wine and beverage (steam-containing and non-steam-containing) products, and can meet special requirements such as high-temperature cooking and sterilization. 8011 aluminum alloy is often used to make aluminum bottle caps.

8021 aluminum foil is the main product for food packaging and battery soft packaging aluminum foil. 8021 aluminum foil has excellent moisture-proof properties, light-shielding and extremely high barrier capabilities. The surface of 8021 aluminum foil is extremely clean and hygienic. No bacteria or microorganisms can grow on the surface. It is a non-toxic packaging material that can be in direct contact with food without any danger to human health.

8011 aluminum foil contains Mn and Mg elements, while 8021 aluminum foil does not contain these two elements. Therefore, 8011 aluminum foil has high strength, but the corresponding elongation and puncture resistance in the same state are lower than 8021.

The main alloy grades of aluminum foil for battery soft packaging are 8021 and 8079. Aluminum foil for battery soft packaging has the following characteristics: The density of aluminum is relatively lower than other metals, so its weight is relatively light. It also has good anti-oxidation and corrosion resistance, so it can ensure the quality of the battery in a long term and reduce the production cost.

There are currently three main types of aluminum foil used for pharmaceutical packaging, namely 8079 aluminum foil, 8021 aluminum foil, and 8011 aluminum foil. 8079 aluminum foil is expensive and has relatively few applications compared to 8011 and 8021 aluminum foil.

Compared with 1235 aluminum foil, 8079 aluminum foil has higher Fe and Si content, and has higher mechanical properties. During rolling, a higher rolling speed can be used without strip breakage, thereby improving aluminum foil production efficiency.
